EA cricket 2005, changes i would like

All gamers out there who have played cricket 2005 would know, the game is boring to say the least.. Its the same old gameplay that's being adopted since the release of Brian lara 1999.. You fix the position of the batsmen, then he kind of freezes till the bowler bowls and u play your shot.. The problem with this is that you end up playing the same shots to almost all balls.. You have to decide the shot u are going to play even before the ball is bowled, and for god sake how do u find the gap?? The same shot may go straight to the fielder or may find the gap to the boundary.. should'nt the caliber of the batsmen decide which balls are placed well, timed..

I would like the batsmen to be allowed to move after the ball is delivered and the position where the ball is pitched to be hidden... That would allow us to chose the shot during the process of play.. The confidence meter is a good concept, so is the special delivery concept for the bowlers.. Special shots that become available as the confidence rises would also draw lot of appreciation.. Great players, like, Sachin of course, would have these special shots (paddle sweep, lofted flick, cut over the slips...) at their disposal right from the beginning, while the lesser batsmen would have to raise confidence levels to get them... That makes the established batsmen that much more valuable... Also adds interest to batting as you have a wider range of strokes to play..

On the bowling front.. Pitching the ball at good length just a walk in the park.. Yet the batsman may hit u you for a six, u try the same shot when u bat and you'll probably edge it... May be EA can make the cursor move faster in the good length zone to make bowling a bit tougher..Also one always likes to see the wickets cartwheel when someone gets bowled, and that doesn't happen here even if the bowler is of express speed..

Individual styles also need to be realized.. All batsmen and bowlers bat and bowl the same way, makes the game monotonous... Statistics must be recorded for every game played and add on to the players career profile, I have seen that this doesn't happen in cricket 2005..

Fielding as always is horrible to watch.. Throws come directly on top of the stumps everytime.. Diving for the ball allows the Batsman to snatch the extra single rather than saving it!! Have no idea how the fielding can be improved...

Also if instead of the user controlling the entire team, he/she were to be allowed to control a single player and progress through the international career, play match winning innings , get selected for tours, receive ICC rankings based on performance the game would become a hotselling one in no time..

  • cool da...atleast someone is writing about games.
but u cant really expcet too many changes in cricket 2006 coz target audience is far smaller than that of football or basketball...hence funding also is relatively lower.
