read on..

He's a superstar both as a cricketer and a person.

-"I have more well wishers than the small section of the crowd at the Wankhede Stadium that day. I have to ignore them. I cannot forget the backing I have got from the people all these years just because of this." - Sachin Tendulkar on being booed by his home crowd...

Its a pity how fickle minded indians are.. Every other day some of my friends start contemplating that Sachin is going to retire soon..

-Asked specifically if he was contemplating retirement, he replied, "I am not interested in this question".- You HEARD that..

How could the media even think of such a question, probably they don't know the force that Tendulkar is.. Arguably the most famous cricketer if not the most popular..

PS: Sachin supports his watchman's family after the watchman's tragic death. you say, big deal, he's got the money. but how many of us spare even a rupee or two for the
beggars on the street? More importantly Sachin didn't do all this for gaining popularity in the name of charity..

  • Nice post :) good to see Sachin fans are still around!! open any site and it will have anti-sachin articles... started feeling I am the only supporter alive!!

but your last line "More importantly Sachin didn't do all this for gaining popularity in the name of charity.." <-- is this a dig at a famous cricketer who tells the media when he is coming to calcutta for charity??

  • Well..even i was a diehard fan of sachin when i was in 10th,11th..but that was a period when he had done almost everything..My main issue is in the context of 'DOUBLE STANDARDS' being the reason for his tactical stay in the team..He must have been dropped atleast once for all his dismal shows..i m sure that he wud hav made a huge comeback if that had been the case..But now he keeps shying away under the name of INJURIES!!..doesn't he??

  • even i was a diehard fan of sachin during 10th,11th std..but that was a period when he was a true hero with no competitors for him..If they feel GAMBHIR is a better odi player than ganguly(haha)in the context of form ..then gambhir must also hav been a better player than sachin..Why this 'DOUBLE STANDARD'??..THATS MY ISSUE..even if sachin had been dropped for abt 1 or 2 tests..i m sure that he wud hav bounced back n i wud hav been reverted back as a passionate fan of sachin..but,the case is he has been shying away under the name of injuries!!..is that the way to go about for a 70 odd century getter??
